Litter

Feeling much better today. Feel that spring is round the corner as I saw a tree full of buds in the garden - hooray!! Hate winter and the cold.
Had several glasses of wine last night and they seemed to do the trick. Amazing what a few glasses of cheap plonk can do for you. Tonight the darling daughter (DD) cooking dinner for me cos her BF is also coming over so that saves me slaving in the kitchen.
Driving to work today all I saw everywhere was litter. Why oh why can't people throw their litter away in bins and not out of car windows. I have a piece of vacant land opposite my house and you cannot believe the fight I have to stop people dumping stuff there. I have had people attempting to dump old carpets, rubble and all manner of other things. I go flying out if I spot them and take their registrations and threaten to report them to the authorities but I can't be there all the time. I am supposed to live in a "decent" area so who are these morons who cannot drive to a dump. I wonder if they would like people dumping stuff on their pavements. It makes my blood boil. I happened to see a few minutes of Swiss Railway Journeys on the travel channel and there was this pristine countryside without a piece of paper or plastic in sight - how refreshing. Other countries have turned their litter problems around so maybe SA should put some effort into this as well. Wouldn't it be lovely to live in a clean environment. I realise we have a lot more pressing issues but little steps also help.
