No one is beyond criticism but Madiba is, especially the destructive one that comes from a woman I once admired for speaking her mind. When Madiba went to prison I was not born yet and I grew up hearing all sorts of stories about how devoted and dedicated this man is, to our liberation. When he came out of prison I was already a leader in a youth and trade union movement and I have had an opportunity to be led by Madiba, a selfless, unassuming and inspiring leader.

I have had an opportunity to work in structures which were led by this giant and Madiba's era was the most consultative era post liberation. We threatened rolling mass action ... Madiba engaged us on patriotism, teachers and nurses went on strike for the first time in this country Madiba engaged with them and they received the biggest salary adjustments, Nigeria wanted to hang Ken Saro Wiwa - Madiba gave Nigeria a piece of his mind and I can count  many more things which Madiba accomplished!

He, together with his collective, managed to instil in our cadres one characteristic many of us lack today i.e. self - sacrifice! He has made mistakes and humbled himself in front of the ANC! Name one leader in Africa who after tasting trappings of the highest office of the land, was prepared to voluntarily step down? He is the only leader, post liberation in many countries, who never yearned for life presidency! He taught us to respect the Constitution, the National Anthem and all our country's symbols.

Madiba!

He has retired and during his tenure was beyond reproach, why would Winnie want to do a "et tu Brute"!

He knows as we all know that no one is beyond criticism and we would agree with anyone who constructively criticises Madiba for the wrongs which they belive he's made himself guilty of. What Winnie tried to do was to erase the entire history of the liberation movement in one stroke, that's totally unacceptable!
